A Leeds bartender made it through to the finals of a global cocktail competition after wowing judges with her entry influenced from a year of living and studying in Shanghai.
Anna Price, bartender at Call Lane’s The Maven, was awarded fourth place in the competition – competing against finalists from 42 other countries.
The global finals were held in Bourges France, where Anna presented her unique and visually stunning cocktail ‘Tianshan Market’ to the Monin Cup judges.
The theme of this year’s competition was ‘sharing memorable moments’. Anna’s cocktail was made from Baijiu (a colourless Chinese spirit), jasmine & lychee syrup, acid adjusted Lapsang Souchong tea and served in a traditional Chinese tea set with accompaniments and traditional Chinese music.
It was a remarkable experience to be able to join the global finals, what an exciting competition to be part of and I am very honoured to have come as far I did in the competition.
Anna Russian & Chinese student at Leeds University who is currently training to be a teacherThe full team are all tremendously proud of Anna, to be a finalist in such a large global competition is an incredible achievement. It is testament to Anna’s dedication and creativity.
